Creating new items via scan
If you scan an item # that doesn't exist, you'll receive this popup:
At this point, you can click the "Find an existing item" button if you think the item you scanned is in the system and if you would like to try and search for it.
Or, if you know it's a new item, simply click the "Create a new item" button and we will automatically insert the item # you scanned into the item # field:
Just fill in a few extra details, like your item's Description, Cost, and Price along with any other required custom fields that you might need to specify.
Click the "Show all Item fields" link to display all item custom fields and additional options.
Once you have entered all the information you need, click the "Create and add" button and the item will appear on the ticket.
Creating new items via search
We have also added the ability to create a new item from within the "Find" item search popup in the POS. So if you are searching for an item there that does not exist, simply click the "Create a new item" button at the bottom of the list.
When you click the "Create a new item" button, we will automatically insert your search text into the Description field of the new item:
Once all of the item information is entered, you can click the "Create and add" button and the item will appear on the ticket.
