In reporting, you will see both Gross Purchasing Receipts and Net Purchasing Receipts listed as available metrics and you may wonder what the difference between the two are. Essentially, your net purchasing receipts are your purchases (receivings against POs) netted against your returns to vendor (purchasing returns). Net Received Cost/Qty = Gross Received Cost/Qty - Gross Returned Cost/Qty.
The best way to view this in reporting is to add:
- Vendor > Name
- Purchasing > Gross Received Cost
- Purchasing > Gross Returned Cost
- Purchasing > Net Received Cost
